Inclusion in ESG Indexes

The Resona Group has received strong praise from institutions around the world that evaluate ESG, and has been selected for inclusion in ESG indexes both in Japan, as well as outside of Japan.
We will continue working to enhance corporate value and to create a sustainable society, by helping to resolve the social issues represented in the SDGs.

Certified as a Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization

The Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization Recognition Program is aimed at commending businesses deemed outstanding in terms of their practice of health and productivity management based on health improvement initiatives advocated by the Nippon Kenko Kaigi (Japan Health Council). In the large enterprise category, Resona Holdings and Kansai Mirai Financial Group* received certification six times and two times, respectively. In the SME category, Resona Guarantee has received certification seven times.

Received Awards under the Osaka Mayor’s Award Program for Leading Companies That Empower Women

Osaka City maintains the Osaka Mayor's Award Program for Leading Companies That Empower Women to commend local organizations that proactively strive to empower women and are considered outstanding in this regard. Resona Bank was chosen to receive the Most Excellent Award under this program in 2018, 2022 and 2025, while Kansai Mirai Bank was chosen to receive the same award in 2023.

Received “Grand Prize for Vibrant Workplaces Promoting Gender Equality” and “Kirari Grand Prize” under the seventh “Osaka Prefecture Vibrant Workplaces Promoting Gender Equality” program

“Osaka Prefecture Vibrant Workplaces Promoting Gender Equality” is a program hosted by Osaka Prefecture that grants awards to business operators proactively engaging in women’s empowerment initiatives, with the aim of creating vibrant communities in which every prefectural citizen can realize their full potential and achieve success regardless of gender.

Kansai Mirai Bank and Resona Bank were chosen to receive the “Grand Prize for Vibrant Workplaces Promoting Gender Equality” in 2022 and 2019, respectively. In 2025, Resona Bank was also chosen to receive the “Kirari Grand Prize,” which is granted only to business operators deemed to have further progressed in their gender equality initiatives following earlier commendation under this program.

Awarded the J-Win Diversity Award

Resona Group CEO and President Masahiro Minami received the CEO Award at the J-Win Diversity Awards, which recognizes leading companies that promote diversity and inclusion (D&I) in 2024. In 2010, Resona became the first company in the financial services industry to receive a J-Win Award and in 2011 Chairman (at the time) Eiji Hosoya received the CEO Award.

Awarded under the PRIDE Index

Resona Holdings was chosen to receive a Gold Rating in the PRIDE Index for eight consecutive years from 2017 to 2024. This rating program evaluates measures undertaken by businesses and other organizations to ensure equality for LGBTQ and other sexual minorities. In 2025, the Company received a Silver Rating.

Awarded the Mayor's Commendation as an Selected as DX Stock

Resona Holdings was included in the Digital Transformation Stock Selection 2023 (DX Sock) by the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan, having been recognized for its efforts to combine the real and digital channels as well as build a digital financial platform. This marks the third time that we have been selected since the DX Stock Selection was inaugurated in 2020.

Received the Minister of the Environment Award under the Principles for Financial Action for the 21st Century

Resona Asset Management received the Minister of the Environment Award (comprehensive category) for best practice in FY2022 under the Principles for Financial Action for the 21st Century in recognition of its efforts to address climate change issues through global impact investment funds. In addition, it received the Selection Committee Chairperson's Award in 2021, while Resona Holdings received the Minister of the Environment Award in 2019.

Recognized as Hyogo Kobe Women’s Empowerment Business (Mimoza Company)

Minato Bank was recognized as a Hyogo Kobe Women’s Empowerment Business (Mimoza Company), an accolade that recognizes companies with excellent practices in promoting the more active roles of women in the workplace.

Recognized as Eco-First Company

Resona Asset Management was certified as an "Eco-First Company by the Minister of the Environment for its environmental goals, which are" innovative, original and have a spill over effect. This is the first accreditation in the investment management industry. In the commitment sheet we submitted, we pledged to address climate change through the establishment and management of an impact investment fund, and biodiversity conservation through dialogue and engagement in palm oil and other areas, as well as active participation in international initiatives, and were highly praised for the innovativeness and originality of our efforts.

Selected as a Nadeshiko Brand

Resona Holdings was selected as a Nadeshiko Brand in 2022. Nadeshiko Brands are jointly selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Tokyo Stock Exchange, from listed companies that excel at promoting the greater involvement of women in the workplace as a means to increasing corporate value over the mid and long term. We were selected for this designation three consecutive years up to 2017. Additionally, Resona Holdings was selected as a semi-Nadeshiko Brand in 2019.

Received the Environmental Conservation Association Of Shiga Prefecture Chairman’s Award (Partnership Category)

In November 2021, Kansai Mirai Bank received the Environmental Conservation Association Of Shiga Prefecture Chairman’s Award (Partnership Category). Through this award, the Environmental Conservation Association Of Shiga Prefecture recognizes businesses with outstanding results in working continuously on environmental conservation activities.

Receives Prime Ministerial Award and Minister of State Award for Special Missions (Gender Equality) of Awards for Women Empowering Companies

In order to promote the development of a workplace environment in which women can play an active role, the Awards for Women Empowering Companies are given to companies with outstanding policies, initiatives, and information disclosure regarding the promotion of women in executive and managerial positions. Saitama Resona Bank received the Prime Ministerial Award in 2018 and Resona Bank received the Minister of State Award for Special Missions (Gender Equality) in 2020 respectively.

The Re:Heart Club, a volunteer organization composed of employees from Resona Holdings and its group companies, has been recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as an organization supporting activities for diverse learning of people with disabilities as an exemplary model for others. In 2013, Resona Bank was awarded the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Diversity Management Selection 100, in which METI recognizes companies that use their diverse human resources to create value.

Obtained Platinum Kurumin

Resona Bank, Saitama Resona Bank, Kansai Mirai Bank and Minato Bank have acquired the Platinum Kurumin, which is given by the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare to companies whose measures set a high standard for supporting a balance of work and childcare.

Obtained Eruboshi Certification

Resona Bank, Saitama Resona Bank, Kansai Mirai Bank, and Minato Bank have received Eruboshi Certification, given to companies that meet certain criteria based on the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare’s Act to Promote Women’s Participation. Each bank received the third grade, which is the second highest of the four grades under the certification regime.

LSEG Lipper Fund Awards Winner Japan 2024, Best Equity

In 2024, Resona Asset Management received the Best Equity Over Three Years at the LSEG Lipper Fund Awards Japan 2024. In addition, in 2023, Resona Asset Management’s Resona Japan Small & Mid Cap Equity Fund was recognized as the top Equity Japan Sm&Mid Cap (3 years) investment trust .

Received the R&I Fund Award

Resona Bank received the R&I Fund Award in the Defined Benefit Pension Fund Global Equity Growth Category for its Resona Global Equity Fund 30, having been recognized for its leading investment returns.

In addition, its Capula Global Relative Value Trust, a hedge fund provided to corporate pension plans took home the R&I Fund Award in the Defined Benefit Pension and Alternatives (Bonds) Category. This marks the six consecutive year the fund has won this award.
